The best time to go surfing in Himmafushi is between April and October, during the Maldives' prime surf season. This period brings consistent southwest swells, with the peak surf months from May to August, offering clean, powerful waves ideal for experienced surfers at breaks like Jailbreaks, Sultans, and Honky’s. Waves during this time can range from 3 to 8 feet, with excellent conditions for long rides and barrels.
The shoulder months of April, September, and October also provide great waves with fewer crowds, making them perfect for intermediate surfers. While November to March is considered the off-season with smaller, less consistent swells, it can still suit beginners or those seeking a quieter island experience
